I am committed to advancing the Truth and Reconciliation Calls to Action and the Reclaiming Power and Place Final Report of the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls Calls to Justice.

In the spirit of reconciliation, I acknowledge that the City of North Bay sits on the traditional territory of the Anishinaabeg Peoples and within the lands of the Robinson Huron Treaty of 1850. I am grateful to live and learn on these lands with all our relations.

It was a full house at the @bestwesterninnonthebay for the annual @fonom.info conference!

Over 200 attendees from across northeastern Ontario packed the house for sessions ranging from AI 🤖 (not to be confused with A1 sauce), forestry 🌳, tourism 🛶, community safety & wellbeing 🤝, the insolvency of Orange County 💰 & much much more.

It was great to connect with colleagues and discuss issues and ideas. I always come away having learned so much and feeling invigorated.

Big HUGE shoutout to @cityofnbay staff for all the work behind the scenes to seamlessly pull off the conference and show off our beautiful City.

Today the Algonquin Regiment and the @cityofnbay unveiled the new plaque at the corner of Algonquin Ave & Jane St. The plaque is located where the monument used to be located before it was moved to Memorial Park. It was a moving event and reminder of the sacrifices of those who served during WWII. This weekend, the Algonquin Regiment is holding a number of events to commemorate the end of WWII. I encourage folks to go and view the plaque to learn more about the history of the Algonquin Regiment.

I’m more proud than ever being a lifelong resident of our community. Serving as the Deputy Mayor & Councillor during the 100th year as a City is truly an honour that I don’t take lightly. I appreciate every day and opportunity to make our City an even greater place to live, work & play.

🧊❄️It was chilly but a lot of fun and for a great cause! Took the @polarplungeon in support of Special Olympics with Mayor Chirico, Councillor @justinemallah.citycouncillor & Councillor Gardiner! Together we raised over $6800. Big kudos to the @northbaypolice & all the volunteers and sponsors for putting on this event. Over $44,000 has been raised and there’s still time to make a donation!

I enjoyed cohosting Your Vote last night with Clarke at @yourtvnorthbay 📺

We are in some interesting times with the Trump tariff drama while concurrently facing affordability, housing and health crises.

I remain realistic but optimistic that the federal and provincial governments will come through with support to upload back services and costs that are tied to their mandates from municipalities. I will keep advocating for better and sustainable funding for our community.

Onwards and upwards.

It doesn’t take long for the snow to pile up! A friendly reminder to keep fire hydrants clear and unobstructed. Keeping them accessible is for your safety and the safety of your neighbours. ❄️🏘️ @cityofnbay

It was a great experience being able to welcome folks to the Northern Leaders Debate on behalf of FONOM (Federation of Northern Ontario Municipalities).

Hosting the debate in North Bay and the North allowed us to highlight the concerns and challenges of northerners from healthcare to highways and everything in between.

Make sure to vote on February 27th in the Ontario election.🗳️

@ice_follies_art opening night was fantastic. ✨ 🎆 make sure to get out during the day AND evening to see the art installations. They spark conversation, feelings and reflection. I look forward to going back this weekend for a tour and then on Family Day for some singing 🎵
